Feedback Columns from Jonny Farrow on Vimeo.

Feedback Columns are isolated and acoustically active spaces in which feedback sounds are achieved through the opposition of a contact microphone and speakers placed within hollow steel columns. The external electronics amplify and shape the sounds the columns produce which the microphones "hear and feel" and feed back into the speakers via the electronics. The sounds coming from the columns, in turn, activate the spaces in which the columns are placed. Feedback Columns are resonant space-material bodies attracted to other resonant space-material bodies that desire yet other space-material bodies to hear and feel their resonance.
